Sun Country Airlines Is Back And Stronger Than Ever
Sun Country Airlines is the result of a dream of aviation professionals who used to work for Braniff Airlines in the early 80s. The people who started Sun Country loved their chosen fields in aviation, so they did what anybody would do – they created their own airline. They hung on as long as they could until the insanity of September 11th took over, and that forced them under a few months later. Just like the phoenix who rises from the ashes, Sun Country Airlines was bought up and then put back into business. Thus proving the resiliency of this company to find a way to come back to life and continue doing what they do best.
When you look at a lot of the history of Sun Country Airlines, you will recognize many other airlines with the common theme of survival. This airline became an fully operational airliner in 1999. But once that happened, then they were right in the middle of all out price wars. Very soon they had lost a great of money, something like 60 million when entering 2000.
They could not sustain any more losses after September 11th happened. They did finally bring everything to a close by the end of 2001.
After many years of hardship, it was announced late 2010 that Sun Country would take up the reins for travel from Lansing Michigan to Washington National near Washington DC. This is really tremendous news for Sun Country Airlines. The originating airport will be Minneapolis/St. Paul which is not surprising.
There is a brief stop for passengers traveling to Washington DC from Lansing. This is all very recent news at the time of this writing, so the stops have not actually been put into service, yet. These will also be daily stops at Lansing which will be more business for the airline.
Of course there are numerous programs with Sun Country, and among them is Sun Country Charters. They have been involved with chartering for a quarter of a century. So that is something that many types of organizations have taken advantage of.
What many people do not know is they are the recipients of many international awards for their services involving chartered flights. The type of people and businesses they have chartered over the years includes people from all walks of life. They truly are a well respected airline for many reasons. You should not be concerned about Sun Country Airlines being able to survive because they are doing all the right things to bring them back to full operation. Thanks to the many years of experience in the industry, their management and employees will no doubt turn things around quickly. The reason they know what action to pursue is a result of their vast aviation experience. What has transpired on the world stage in terms of economic crisis is a separate issue altogether.
