Waterparks are becoming more and more popular as European holiday destinations. We have provided some information below to help those visiting aquatic resorts close to Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Menorca hotels.
One of Aquarocks most famous attractions is the kamikaze ride. The four main slides offer different levels of excitement, including rings which can be used for going down the slides such as the Black Hole. The figure of eight rings are great for those who want to slide down in pairs. There is even a swimming pool with a jacuzzi for the adults to enjoy, which is adjacent to a kids pool with small slides and a safe depth. There is a third graduated pool with a wave machine – ideal for families of all sizes, as it allows you to pick your comfort zone.
There are more than 20 water rides at Aqualand, a lot of them are unique and set in beautiful green surroundings. Parents can take advantage of the jacuzzi, which is perfect for escaping the busy nature of the park and is close to Mallorca hotels. The Western Water Park is close by, and great for younger children. During the day there are a number of predatory bird shows, a small animal farm, and green lawn areas to relax in.
Hidropark in Alcudia has activities beyond the water for all the family – including a 54 hole mini golf course, while Marineland at Costa d’en Blanes, complete with its private beach, has parrot shows, penguins, an aquarium, and much more.
There is a waterpark based on the ancient Amazon River valley called Atlantida (which is believed to have been founded over four thousand years ago). Gran Canaria’s Puerto Rico is very popular amongst families with children. Completely refurbished, it has plenty of fun slides including the kamikaze and rapid river, plenty of sun beds, parasols, café, restaurant, shops, and much more – all within a short distance of hotels in Gran Canaria.
Aqualand Maspalomas has Mamut, a firm favourite where visitors whizz down a slide on a four-person raft and Adrenalina, a double-rubber-ring ride. Not for the faint hearted, Boomerang is a ride where you sit on a floating ring and ride down a vertical drop! Aqualand has many places for refreshments and extensive gardens to explore.
